One of the more popular attractions along the Apple Capital Loop Trail for younger children is Wenatchee Riverfront Railway. This is a great place to go for your child, your children, or a large group of kids. The railway runs on a number of weekends during the warmer months of the year, there is a schedule available, and is also available for birthday parties and special events. It is located on the southern end of Riverfront Park, right near the Sculpture Garden and the east end of the Riverwalk Bridge.
The Wenatchee Riverfront Railway is a 10 inch gauge railway that sees miniature trains, big enough for both kids and adults to ride on, carry people around a large run that features replica train buildings and even crosses train bridges. The railway is run by volunteers and is an affiliate of the Wenatchee Valley Museum and Cultural Center.
Whether you and your kids are there to ride the trains yourselves or you are just walking by and taking in the sight of the train in operation, the Wenatchee Riverfront Railway is a nice feature to have alongside the Apple Capital Loop Trail.
