If you are a kid looking for some outdoor play in Wenatchee, then Walla Walla Point Park is probably the place you are most familiar with. This is a huge park alongside the river just north of Riverfront Park and south of the mouth of the Wenatchee River.
Walla Walla Point Park is home to climbing toys, picnic shelters, picnic tables, restrooms, tennis courts, basketball courts, softball fields, volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, and more. A small paved path leads away from the Apple Capital Loop Trail there and heads over a very small bridge and out onto an island too and this is a nice place to go to get access to the water or just see the local scenery. Walla Walla Point Park is also home to a nice swimming area that comes with a good sized beach and is sheltered from the main flow of the river by the above mentioned island.
Walla Walla Point Park is home to several local celebrations and on hot summer days can be quite busy. Biking or walking through it on the Apple Capital Loop Trail though is a great way to see it. You can also use the trail as a place to ride bikes, go inline skating, jogging, or walking as one of the activities during your visit to the park too. The two attractions mix very well there. This is the kind of park where it is easy to pack a picnic lunch and spend the better part of the day at. The park is located right across the street from the Town Toyota Center too, so this makes it easy to combine a visit to the park with any of the great entertainment options offered there.
